My wife and I bought a 2006 Toyota Highlander on 1-28-2026 to replace our 2005 Toyota Camry that was rear-ended by an inattentive driver. I brought along my 2007 Scion tC Spec to use as a potential trade-in. We met a salesman there who was an older man, Michael, who showed the Highlander to us. We took it for a ride, and it drove OK, a little low on gas, so Michael put some gas in it. We went over some of the figures in the office, and used my 2007 Scion tC as a trade-in. Michael called his manager Murray Shane over to look at, and evaluate my car. My Scion tC was in fairly pristine condition. The manager, after driving my car, told me that it had rust damage, and that one of the front fenders had been replaced. I told him that I have the CARFAX report, that I was the second owner, and it was a very low mileage car, with NO accidents. I left the CARFAX report in the glove box with the car. My wife and I are both seniors in our seventies, and the Scion tC is more suited to a younger buyer who can appreciate it's handling qualities, firm ride, and low mileage. Murray talked to the owner, and named a price, of which we negotiated and came to a figure. We agreed to trade in the Scion tC, on the Highlander. During the signing of papers, the Experian AutoCheck Report showed that the Highlander was never in an accident, and that it was a one owner vehicle. We left the dealership confident that we had bought a vehicle more usable to us. Just out of curiosity, I ran a CARFAX report on the 2006 Toyota Highlander on 1-30-2026 , and found out that it had accident damage to the rear reported on 8-16-2010. This is in contrast to the Experian AutoCheck Report taken on 1-28-2026 at the dealership at the time of sale, stating NO damage reported. Last week my wife took the Highlander out to pick up one of the granddaughters from school, and upon arrival back home said that the right windshield wiper was not working well. At that same time, during the trip, the check engine light came on. It cost us $344 from a mobile mechanic to have the charcoal canister purge valve replaced to clear the code. The windshield wipers were all bad, and half of the rubber was missing, just short of scratching the windshield. The were all replaced, except for the rear wiper, which is on special order. I noticed that they had taken no time at all cleaning up my 2007 Scion tC, to be pristine looking for resale with a fat price tag on it, the same as what they were asking for the Highlander I just bought. Manager Murray Shane really tried to convince me that my nice 2007 Scion tC was a piece of junk, put together by some tuner kid in the bay area. I left the original price sticker with the owner's manual, showing just the way the car came from the factory. It was a one owner car, bought by an older Japanese man. I called Michael back, the salesman who sold me the car, and he said my 2007 Scion tC "Spec" model "cleaned up" really well. It is too bad that the vehicle they sold me wasn't in as good a shape as my Scion tC. Checking over the transfer of title papers, it showed that I paid double for registration fees 2025-2026 and 2026-2027, something dealer's in California can do at their discretion, another stick to the senior customer. In closing, I would not recommend Hayes Auto Sales, Roseville, CA to anyone wanting a quality car for a fair price. They are the typical shyster dealers many warn you about, and if you read the other customer satisfaction reviews, you will understand. If you are going to buy a vehicle at ANY dealer, have them give you a CARFAX report, and if they are unwilling to, Just thank them for their time and walk away. Just say NO To Hayes Auto Sales, Roseville, California!

Thank you very much for your great review. We do try very hard to find the right vehicle and the right financing package for our clients. Enjoy your new vehicle. I hope you have many many happy miles with it.
These guys really put in a lot of effort to get us into a car in one day. We aimed a bit high at first - which was our mistake, but we found one and they got us a great deal at a fair price we feel really good about.
They have it set up so they do not have to compete with each other, they worked together really well. We didn't feel pressured or like we were being rushed at all. Not to mention the have a solid reputation for only selling reliable cars after thorough cleaning and inspection. Easy lot to navigate, not overwhelming.
Everyone there was so professional and pleasant to work with. Ronnie and Clint, (I believe it was) really made us feel comfortable, kept us in the loop as to where we were in the process, and were just genuine good hearted people. You could tell chatting with them.
Definitely recommend! 10/10 Thank you guys so much! :D

Me and my husband went out to look for a reliable car on January 18,2026. Me and my wife found a different vehicle at at a different lot. But it had clear issues. We drove almost 2 hours. We didn't want to leave town with out reliable vehicle. So we looked up the street. Seen Hayes Auto sales. We talked to a Bill and test drove a 2009 Ford flex, with about 160,000 miles. We decided to buy it. It was simple and easy. The lady who does the paperwork was nice, friendly and turns out to be the daughter of the owner. Which we met and also shook hands. He, like his daughter, was nice and seemed very genuine. And it didn't take too much time to go through the paperwork. We paid $ 6,835 out the door. The owner is a nice gentleman. It was a painless process to buy. We drove off the lot. Drove literally 15 miles the check engine light came on, we live well over an hour and a 1 away. In Antioch California. My husband took it straight to autozone. Had sales guy use the OBD2 reader, the computer read the code on it. It turns out it's the Cadillac converter 100% bad. The sales guy shows me? There's no way this vehicle passed smog. I felt burnt and worked over. The next day in the morning we call. And say this is the issue. We get transferred to Mr. Murry the general manager. He says we didn't buy the 2 day return policy. But that he will check it out. We drove back. My husband is upset and he basically tells us there's nothing he can do. Because I did not sign some type of waiver. I didn't buy a waiver, but he'll take a look at it. Okay, got in a couple arguments. But Murray agreed to take a look at it, by there mechanics It came back. It's the Cadillac converter, so they were looking for one. He said he found one, that might work? Come back in a few hours. We went to the mall. They said they installed a different one, and reset the check engine. We agreed if the light comes on he will order a different one. One designed for the ford flex. We agreed if it has to be a different one. They'll order it. Shook hands and drove off. We then drove 8 miles. The check engine light came on again. I called him went to autozone. In the area and it turns out it's a code for the Cadillac converter. The last conversation we had with Mr. Murry, is he's gonna order it. And schedule a time when we can go back. And they're going to replace it for free. That they were going to make things right. I highly appreciate it and I'm hoping for it. I believe everyone we have met through this ordeal are good people. I believe the owner and general manager will make things right. So I could go back in a few months and buy another vehicle. As I told them? We will be back in a few months to buy another vehicle. We will keep everyone updated on the process and how things turn out, for us.
Haven't heard anything back yet and it 1/25/2026
We were on our way to a different car lot when we passed Hayes auto sales . We saw a 2019 ford f150 4x4 that was what we were looking for so we pulled in and we were greeted by Brian . He was a very nice and knowledgeable guy that had answers for all of our questions. We took it for a nice drive and when we got back Brian introduced us to his boss Murray a very nice and funny guy between the two of them we came up with a good deal on our trade in and a great price on the truck . Then off to see Jeff in the finance office who got us a great rate from the bank and treated my wife and I like kings . From start to Finish a great experience and will be returning in the future .
Very good atmosphere, very friendly service, made buying a really easy process. Financing was quick and easy. Sales team was very friendly and professional. All around a great place to buy a used car

Zach. Thanks for your business. We really appreciate you taking the time to give us a review. We do try very hard to make everything quick and a great experience for all our clients. With our great sales team as well as a fantastic inventory of cars, suv, trucks and of course terrific clients like yourself, we are very privileged to be going on 30 years of business in Roseville. Thank you once again.
I gave this used car dealership 2 stars because the customer service from Ronnie was wonderful and attentive, Ronnie gets 10 stars.
However, Haynes auto is legitimately trying to sell a vehicle that has a rusted out bottom, muffler, and exhaust system. This is what all of the bottom bushings looked like on a 98 Ford Ranger priced at $7000 that I spent the better half of the day traveling to come see from my home, an hour and a half away.
No dealership should be reselling preowned vehicles with this level of damage and not repairing at least the bushings or being transparent upfront that it has been in snow and salt.
This can lead to parts literally falling off while driving on the freeway. It is extremely unsafe.
I wish I had known that there had been this level of rust damage before I took the train all the way out from Oakland to Roseville to check out what was seemingly a good vehicle based on pictures of the exterior, interior and top of the engine.
Again: great attentive customer service, but definitely look these vehicles up and down in every nook and cranny because if I hadn’t known to look for this I might’ve driven off the lot and had this part malfunction on me like it did on my jeep and I could’ve gotten in a serious accident.
