I was in the market for a used model Y and was getting nowhere with a local dealer in San Jose. Their car was expensive, and their offer on my trade was low. Lots of high pressure sales techniques and ultimately not getting anywhere. I saw a similar car I liked more at EchoPark. I called in to see if it was available, made an appointment, and drove over from San Francisco. On the way over I read the reviews, and became terrified. Stories of thousands of dollars of mandatory add-ons, forceful financing, deals not honored, and more. Here is my experience . This place is huge, much bigger than I expected. The service is slow, and without an appointment it's probably really slow. They allowed me to test drive by myself, which I really like. My sales associate was very upfront about the mandatory $699 fee for their paint thing. Even with that fee, their car was very competitively priced. They're one of those no haggle places (similar to Carvana or Carmax), so be prepared for that. Their offer on my trade was much higher than any other place, I was shocked. I bought the car early the next day becade I needed a cashier check. They don't hold cars. Process was slow, but straightforward. Honestly, not a bad place to shop if you know what to expect.

I haven't bought a car in a while, so coming to this location to look for one felt a little strange. You're allowed to look at the cars but, their all locked. So you can't look inside without an appointment. When we arrived, we had to check in and were told it would be about an hour just to look at a vehicle. We ended up leaving because the wait was too long. It would be helpful if this policy was made clearer upfront. So make an appointment ahead of time if you're planning to car shop here.

They tried charging me $4,000 in taxes on a $5,000 balance.. how does that even make sense? I came in to do a trade in. The offer they gave me on my car was $25,000 and the car I wanted was $29,996. I was ready to pay roughly $5,000 cash and took tax into consideration.. the manager kept coming back with papers with different prices and made this process very confusing.. on the last paper it had a total of roughly $9,500 after he told me it would be 5-6k.. confusing right? I think he was confused too. I don’t understand how the tax is almost equal to the total..? Anyways, I’ll be going to carmax next time where they make the process much easier for us customers :)
